Envy - glass artist - Glenda Kent - pate de verre

My first Polaroid Spectra SE photo
with Impossible Spectra Color Instant Film.
A F112 close-up lens and camera flash were used.
A posting to Facebook - the link is below - describes the process.
Impossible Instant Film Project

Edited in Photoshop

An issue I noticed.
The camera is not aware that the close-up lens has been attached.
Therefore it does not know that the focus distance is 10 inches.
This results in a 'too close' indicator.
I took the photograph regardless expecting the image may have been blown out by the flash.
This seems not to have happened.
There is no information regarding this in my instruction booklets.
Perhaps it is on an elusive LE (Law Enforcment) kit VHS.

Fragments of truths - The Doll and other tales

Fragments of truths - The Doll and other tales

A pre-occupation with dolls?

A previous post:
A homage to Tracey Moffatt

and of course, Ned.

The Doll  - a poem

Over the fence behind the house,
unoccupied pending demolition,
I could see the doll, suspended.
Once a plaything.
Now abandoned, discarded, unwanted.
What tales could it tell?
Fondled by human hands, a trace of DNA, a strand of hair.
It acts out in the breath of the breeze a longing still
to be free from what awaits, a tomb of rubble.

Sojourn Sydney - Intercontinental Double Bay Wednesday 23 - Thursday 24th February 2017

Glenda was awarded 'Highly Commended' for her
exhibit 'Bared', at the Woollahara Small Sculpture Prize.
As well as her award she received a nights accommodation
at the Intercontinental Hotel at Double Bay.
Flights were booked to take the opportunity to indulge the luxury
of the accommodation and the surrounds of Double Bay prior to
her returning to studies at the University of SA next week.

Departing the Hotel Thursday we had all day to visit the State Library
where the exhibition 'Under the sun',  the new work of artists responding
to Max Dupain's iconic 'Sunbaker' image, were on show, and after to leisurely
venture at will, wherever.

Glenda and I thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition 'Under the sun',
at the State Library of  NSW.  A new take on Max Dupain's iconic image 'Sunbaker'.
I did not know what to expect from preview images but the exhibition itself becomes
immersive with multi-media works and cross-cultural context.
The original works by Max, including his album, and the references to the earlier promotions of the work by the ACP (Australian Centre For Photography) both anchor and give context to the exhibition.
I was disappointed not to find Photofile, the ACP's latest publication of its journal, on sale at the Library Shop.

I love to seize the moment to take multiple frames with the creation of a Gif
in mind.
This location en-route from the State Library to Circular Quay
provided an opportunity with its vivid backdrop and buildings.

Arrived at Circular Quay - walked to the State Library
Some locations were shut down - security arrangements for PM Netanyahu.
Police helicopter hovered overhead.

We boarded the Ferry  after visiting the State Library for 2 hours of sight seeing on Sydney Harbour.
