Heysen Sculpture Biennial 2019 Dwelling: Shelter, Thinking, Being

Heysen Sculpture Biennial 2019 Dwelling: Shelter, Thinking, Being

Wednesday 24 April 2019
Glenda and I attended 'The Cedars' Hahndorf for the exhibition
with good friends Shadia and Richard.
After viewing the exhibits we availed ourselves of the opportunity
to picnic on the grounds.
A beautiful day and the lovely surrounds of the well established
old garden provided a very pleasant occasion with delightful
food, wine and the company of friends.

2014 Heysen Sculpture Biennial Exhibition

2014 Heysen Sculpture Biennial Exhibition

The art enhances the landscape and the viewers perception of found forms
within the landscape. (self quote)

My twin sister Mary Watson and I decided to celebrate our 65th birthday
on 3 April this year (2014), with a visit to the exhibition.
The event is held at Hans Heysen's historic property, 'The Cedars' located outside of
Hahndorf, a quaint village of German origins, in the Adelaide Hills.
A full review of the exhibition with artists details can be found here:

and another review here:

My photographs are an incomplete record this year cut short because we wished to take the guided tour through the venerated artist Sir Hans Heysen's studio and home maintained as they were when he lived and worked there, a national treasure.

It is interesting to note the photographers perspectives in the referenced reviews
and my own below.
